Nick Saban Early Life and Education 

Saban is a famous former footballer born on 31^st October 1951 in Fairmont, West Virginia. He lived with her parents Nick Lou Saban and Mary. His parents used to own a small business which is a small service station and his father also worked as a coach for a youth football team in his early life. Nick Saban has always been fascinated with his father and that is the reason behind his talent and skills.  Saban has a sibling named Dianna and they both completed their high school from Monongah High School,  which is situated in the small coal mining community in Monongah West Virginia. In his early years, he started playing quarterback in the year 1968 in the State Championship team of West Virginia. In December 1971, he married Terry, who also came from West Virginia. After marriage, he pursued his education and graduated from Kent State University and got a bachelor’s degree in business. However, he also worked as a football coach for Kent University under Don James who was the main football coach of the university at that time.  Nick Saban got his master’s degree in the year 1975 in Business Studies from Kent State but he had to face an unfortunate situation due to his father’s death.

In his early years of college,  he did not want to enter a coaching career but after he worked with Don James as an assistant coach at Kent State University, he started developing an interest in football. Later he started working as an assistant coach in NCAA Division I- A in various schools like Ohio State in 1980, Navy in 1992, West Virginia in 1978, and Michigan State from 1983 to 1987. After that his position was acquired by Dick Crum in 1987 and Saban received an appointment letter from the Houston Oilers as an assistant football coach in the National Football League In the same year. 

 Saban started his career at the University of Toledo as a head coach on 22^nd December 1989. He continued his job from 1988 to 1989 and under his supervision the team got huge success in 1990. However, in 2002, Saban got a job as a head coach at Alabama’s Crimson Tide and got lots of recognition because of his success and hard work in Alabama and LSU that is the reason he is known as the ‘Sports Goat’. Under Saban’s coaching, the Alabama university gained victory several times such as in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015,2017, and 2020 and not only this, the LSU also gained a national title in 2003. Recently, he established a Nick’s Kids foundation with his wife Terry Saban to help children and offer them a better education and better living.
